In 2015, world leaders met to set a set of objectives that seek global unity and prosperity in different aspects, resulting in the creation of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which must be achieved by the year 2030.

Since then, public and private organizations have joined the initiative, aligning their efforts in terms of social responsibility to specific objectives, related to the institution's line of business or subject matter.

Why incorporate the SDGs into agriculture?
The agricultural sector in particular is related to multiple aspects that touch on the Development Goals, such as economic growth, nutrition, health, climate change, water use, food production, soil erosion and gender equality, to name just a few.

This industrial sector, being directly linked to AQB Directory social and economic development issues, needs to join global efforts and generate effective solutions, but above all sustainable over time, but what is the best way to incorporate the SDGs into the Agriculture?



Below we present the example of a company in the industry that managed to incorporate the SDGs into agriculture and how it does it.



How to incorporate the SDGs into agriculture: Monsanto case
In accordance with the nature of the business, the international company Monsanto identified six Sustainable Development Goals that are particularly relevant to the company and that represent the areas where it can have the greatest impact.

The objectives are the following:
